Laurus Nobilis Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil
Laurus Nobilis Essential Oil (Laurus nobilis-Bay Laurel) ~ has a spicy scent similar to the bay leaves used in cooking. Uplifting, calming, and grounding, Laurus Nobilis supports the digestive and respiratory systems. Ancient Greeks and Romans used leaves of the laurel tree to crown their victors, and the Greeks crowned their scholars with them as well. Laurus Nobilis has an approximate ORAC of 989,447 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
Historical Data: Both the leaves and the black berries were also used to alleviate indigestion and loss of appetite. During the Middle Ages, Laurus Nobilis was used for angina, migraine, heart palpitations and liver and spleen complaints.
Uses: Laurus Nobilis can be used to restore balance to the nervous system, help bring relief to arthritis (rheumatoid) and oral infections such as gingiitis, respiratory infections and viral infections.
Laurus Nobilis Research: Sayyah M, Valizadeh J, Kamalinejad M. Anticonvulsant activity of the leaf essential oil of Laurus nobilis against pentylenetetrazole and maximal electroshock-induced seizures. Phytomedicine. 2002 Apr;9(3):212-6.
Application: Dilute 1 part Laurus Nobilis essential oil with 1 part organic vegetable oil. Apply directly on location, chakras/Vita Flex points, directly inhale, diffuse, or take as a dietary supplement. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of vegetable oil and put in a capsule. Then take one capsule before each meal or as desired.
