Ledum Essential Oil (Ledum groenlandicum) has a long history of use in folk medicine. As a tea, ledum provides well-being. It is also believed to harmonize and balance the body's daily needs.
Historical Data: Known colloquially as "Labrador tea", ledum is a strongly aromatic herb that has been used for centuries in folk medicine. The native people of Eastern Canada used this herb for tea, as a general tonic, and to balance a variety of kidney-related issues. Ledum has helped protect the native people of North America against scurvy for more than 5,000 years. The Cree used Ledum for fevers and colds.
Uses: Use Ledum essential oil for liver issues such as hepatitis and fatty liver, obesity and water retention.
Key Constituents:
Limonene — 20-35%
Cis- and Trans-Paramenth1(7) 8 Diene 8-ol — 12-17%
Cis- and Trans-Paramenthatriene 1,3,8 — 8-15%
Application: Dilute 1 part Ledum essential oil with 1 part organic vegetable oil. Apply directly on location, chakras/Vita Flex points, directly inhale, diffuse, or take as a dietary supplement. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of vegetable oil and put in a capsule. Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor's care, consult your physician. Dilution recommended for topical use. Dilute before using on sensitive areas such as the face, neck, genital area, etc. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and very small children.
