Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil (Cinnamomum verum) ~ The warm, spicy aroma of cinnamon has been sought throughout the ages both as a valuable commodity and for its ability to support wellness. Cinnamon oil is now being used in many recipes as a tangy, inventive ingredient. Historically, cinnamon was so popular it was the main reason behind the occupation of Ceylon by first the Portuguese, then the Dutch, and then the British. Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ cinnamon bark is meticulously tested to ensure that no dilution from similar-smelling oils has occurred. Cinnamon is thought to promote healthy cardiovascular and immune function. You can also use it to enhance your cooking, or dilute and massage into chakras to create a soothing, relaxing sensation. It is best to dilute cinnamon bark before topical application or direct inhalation. Cinnamon Bark has an approximate ORAC of 103,448 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
History of Cinnamon Essential Oil: Listed in Dioscorides' De Materia Medica (AD 78), Europe's first authoritive guide to medicines, that became the standard reference work for herbal treatments for over 1,700 years. Cinnamon was reputed to be part of the "Marseilles Vinegar" or "Four Thieves Vinegar" used by grave-robbing bandits. Cinnamon is a tonic for the digestive system.

Applications of Cinnamon Essential Oil: For dietary or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as soy or rice milk. For topical application, dilute 1 part essential oil with 4 parts organic vegetable oil and apply 1-2 drops on location, chakras, Vita flex points. Cinnamon essential oil is also wonderful in the diffuser especially around the holidays. May irritate the nasal membranes if inhaled directly from the diffuser or bottle. Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor's care, consult your physician. Always dilute before applying to the skin or taking internally. Keep out of reach of children.
